EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy
EMDR Therapy is an interactive psychotherapy technique used to relieve psychological stress. It is an effective treatment for trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
How does it work?
EMDR helps your brain process and release traumatic and painful memories through eye movements, TheraTapper, Virtual Light Bar, Auditory & Tactile BLS and sometimes just bilateral tapping.
The idea, known as the adaptive information processing model, is that you can reprocess a disturbing memory so it moves into the adaptive memory thereby the person no longer is triggered by the disturbing memory.
Our trained therapists will help you work through painful memories with your body’s natural functions to recover from the effects of trauma.
Complex Trauma
Complex Trauma is a mental health problem that can affect people who have experienced prolonged or repeated trauma.
It causes a range of symptoms, such as re-experiencing the trauma, avoiding reminders of the trauma, difficulty controlling emotions, self-harm and feelings of being in a dream. These events are severe and pervasive, such as abuse or profound neglect.
IFS
Internal Family Systems
and PARTS Work
Internal Family Systems (IFS) has transformed the practice of psychotherapy.
With Introduction to Internal Family Systems, the creator of IFS presents the ideal layperson's guide for understanding this empowering, effective, and non-pathologizing approach to self-discovery and healing.
Shift from the limiting "mono-mind" paradigm into an appreciation of your marvelous, multidimensional nature
Unburden your wounded parts from extreme beliefs, emotions, and addictions
Demystify the most commonly misunderstood parts of the Exiles, Managers, and Firefighters
Transform your most challenging parts from inner obstacles to invaluable allies
Embrace the existence of innate human goodness in yourself and others
Connect with the true Self that is greater than the sum of your parts
PARTS WORK
The ‘Apparently Normal Part’, which is usually the adult part of us that is involved in and responsible for everyday living and functioning, and ‘Emotional Parts’, which are the parts of ourselves stuck in trauma time (in the past). Emotional Parts are usually younger than the Apparently Normal Part (ANP) and sometimes hold onto memories the ANP doesn’t have.
When working with Dissociation, the aim of the game, so to speak, is Integration on all levels. Through therapy, clients work on unifying their separate parts, helping the parts to share their separate memories and work together rather than against each other to eventually achieve ‘harmony in the house’.
Validation and compassion for all personalities or all parts is a crucial component in this work as well as helping the different personalities or parts orientate to the present moment time.

Choosing EMDR Intensives vs Traditional Therapy
We understand that traditional therapy every week or fortnight may not work for everyone, which is why we offer EMDR intensive trauma treatment that’s both streamlined and effective.
Our EMDR Intensive Programs involve scheduling treatment sessions closer together (three sessions in one week) and extending the session length to 120 minutes, allowing us to move through the eight phases of EMDR processing more efficiently. This targeted approach enables access to a deeper level of processing so that more traumatic material can be reprocessed more quickly, resulting in faster relief from trauma-related symptoms.
While traditional therapy sessions may involve checking in, discussing daily struggles, some EMDR reprocessing, and practising therapeutic techniques in between sessions – our EMDR Intensive Programs are solely focused on moving through the eight phases of EMDR processing. This approach allows us to address the root cause of your trauma faster and then process the memories, beliefs, and emotions in a streamlined and targeted manner.
Our EMDR Intensive Programs are designed to accelerate your recovery, providing you with relief from traumatic experiences and associated symptoms in a shorter period.
Training & Workshops
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills Group
DBT teaches you the skills to cope with life’s ups and downs, and coaches positive behaviours to replace any unhelpful behaviours.
This program is designed for those who have difficulties with emotions, relationships, impulsivity, self-harm, suicidal behaviours, substance abuse or other problems that come from difficulties with controlling emotions.
It involves an active learning process in which group participants are encouraged to participate and discuss how the skills apply to their real-world situations.
It covers the four core modules, based on Dr Marsha Linehan’s DBT therapy, with each module targeting a specific area of skill enhancement.
These include:
Mindfulness
Distress Tolerance
Emotion Regulation
Interpersonal Effectiveness
The group will run weekly over five weeks with a maximum of ten participants per group with a two-hour session duration.
Session times (days or evenings) will depend on the level of interest from prospective participants.

Recent critical incidents
Designed for first responders and or those involved in the incident
Victims of mass trauma incident
Emergency services
Natural disasters
What is (R- Tep) :
R-Tep is developed as a simplified adaption of the EMDR R-TEP for recent traumatic experiences or life-changing events with on-going consequences.
The aim is to process each individual’s Trauma Episode within a group framework.
R-Tep uses a group protocol that retains as much as possible of the depth and power of an individual EMDR protocol for recent events.
The Trauma Episode conceptualisation of the G-TEP addresses the fragmented multi-target nature of the non-consolidated (recent) trauma memories.
